What is Peppol eInvoicing?

Peppol is a global set of standards and specifications that supports organisations securely sending and receiving transaction information between their Accounting systems and that of their clients\suppliers through encrypted transmission and cross-border exchange of business documents electronically (Cross Border Procurement).

In 2021, the New Zealand Government mandated the use of Peppol eInvoicing for all central government agencies by 31 March 2022.

Many are seeing the benefits of Peppol eInvoicing and are looking to adopt it. You can now easily reach out to your trading partners, both locally and internationally, through the Peppol eInvoicing network.

How does Link4 eInvoicing (Peppol) work?

eInvoicing through the Peppol Network occurs through a four-corner model, where the customer and supplier (corners 1 and 4) use different ‘Access Point’ providers (corners 2 and 3) to exchange eInvoices.

Link4 is a Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment (MBIE) accredited Access Point provider. Both purchaser and supplier have their own ‘Peppol ID’ which connects them to the Peppol network. A business’ Peppol ID is created by their Access Point provider when connected to the Peppol network.
