    Peppol-accredited eInvoicing services

In Australia, the eInvoicing standard adopted by the government is Peppol, which is an internationally established framework. As per ATO’s investigation in 2016 on ensuring how viable eInvoicing is for Australia (ATO is the lead agency for the eInvoicing initiative in the country and legislated by the government to be the Peppol Authority representatives of Australia), approximately 1.2 billion invoices are transacted annually in the country. Email and PDF invoices cost about $28 per invoice to be processed.

An eInvoice only cost $9 – which is a dramatic improvement in economic costs savings and efficiency when switching to eInvoicing.

As part of the ATO’s Digital Business Plan, the government-mandated eInvoicing for all federal agencies from the 1st of July 2022. Link4 was one of the first service providers in Australia to be Peppol certified in 2019.

The Peppol eInvoicing Network allows invoices to be exchanged between different Accounting systems. The ATO (Australian Taxation Office) is also consulting on options for mandatory adoption of eInvoicing across all levels of government going forward.
