MYOB Partner Connect Adelaide

This week the MYOB Team rolled into Adelaide to have the annual Partner Connect Conference at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

The Link4 team were amongst more than 80 present to hear about the new brand enhancements for MYOB, I mean, myob.

A shift designed to reflect the changes within the software to a more up-to-date and Cloud-based focus, the logo and brand made a big departure from the previous logo. The new brand contains flowing lowercase letters coloured in a gradient from purple to pink. It certainly reflects something new and different – but has much else changed?

A lot of work has been done on MYOB Essentials to make it easier to use while adding new features. MYOB AccountRight is also in for an update as well. These changes are due next month and we look forward to hearing more officially from the MYOB Marketing and Partner teams.

What was evident with those in the room, is that these bookkeepers and Accountants are ultra-conservative. There is a reluctance to use MYOB add-ons, even if they will save a lot of time and money. A high-energy presentation from MYOB Evangelist, Keran McKenzie, addressed this issue by showing some impressive case studies with motivating statistics. It will be interesting to see next year, how many of the audience have progressed to using the advantages of add-ons.

We were happy to be one of three add-on partners who were attending this year. It was really interesting to talk with Accountants and bookkeepers during the breaks about streamlining the invoice process. Having a chance to hear questions and feedback from the Accountants and bookkeepers regarding Link4 was one of the great takeaways for us from this conference.

The highlight of the day was the closing keynote presentation from Michael Crossland. An amazing life story – part of which was captured on Australian Story in 2002, but so much more has been added to his story since then and is still continuing. As the MYOB Partner Connect Roadshow is still travelling around Australia, we won’t go into any details of Michael’s story as we wouldn’t want to take anything away from the experience of hearing him speak. But if you get the opportunity to hear from him, please take advantage of that this year. Do not wait for another time – that is all we will say on that for now.

Thank you to the MYOB team for a great event and we look forward to seeing what you have in store for us next time.
