As global business trends accelerate digital transformation, New Zealand<\/a> is stepping up with mandatory eInvoicing<\/a> rules designed to streamline payments, improve cashflow, and promote fair business practices. However, despite these clear benefits and looming deadlines, many Kiwi businesses remain unprepared – missing out on real business benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Link4, an accredited Peppol Service Provider<\/a> and Access Point certified by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) and the New Zealand Peppol Authority<\/a>, urges businesses to take timely action. From 1 January 2026, government agencies must pay all eInvoices within five working days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Government\u2019s updated Procurement Rules are designed to accelerate payment cycles and ensure suppliers receive fair terms. Meeting these requirements often does not require upgrading ERP or Accounting systems. Large enterprises<\/a> (annual revenue over NZD 33 million) do face compliance deadlines when supplying to government. They are strongly encouraged to transition fully by December 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
